Detecto LCD Digital Scale, Red, Stainless Steel

Sometimes, you will have to weigh yourself twice to get a real weight. It is good though that the scale came with a battery in it.

I purchased this scale from a local store whose mascot is a dog with a spot. The model pictured here looks identical to the Detecto model D114 I bought (and should be functionally identical to the D115 and D116).After unpacking and activating it, I stepped on the scale for the first time. The scaled did what it was supposed to do and gave me a weight reading that seemed about right (within 2.0 lbs of what I had measured on an industrial scale at my local gym).I tried it several more times, waiting 30 seconds to 2 minutes between measurements. I received the following measurements (where X is my originally measured weight in lbs.):X + 0.2X + 0.8X + 0.0X + 0.8X - 0.4X + 0.0X - 0.8X + 0.0X + 0.2X + 0.2X - 0.4X + 1.2X + 0.2X - 0.4Paying $20-30 for a digital scale is reasonable, but I think it ought to be more consistent than an $8 spring scale. I'm returning it tomorrow.Also, I see there is some kind of review war going on with electronic bathroom scales on Amazon. Take every review here with a grain of salt.

I weighed myself in 20 second intervals and the scale gave me different numbers each time.It read:119.8120.1125.2124.4119.8120.5it was kind of strange, I know I didn't magically loose 5 pounds or gain 5 pounds in 1 minute!

Horrible scale. Misreading every day. Goes from 10-15 lb difference within minutes. Waste of money

Horrible. After 4 weeks the calibration is off and I don’t know how to reset. Terrible product.

I bought this scale because the Detecto Brand is the same as Dr. scales.....Not Quite....Buyer Beware ! This scale is cheap junk. Poor quality and just gave wrong / different reading every time I stepped on it. I returned it & got a new one. New one was worse than the first one.... Same Junk - Different Box, it was also returned. I was mad and did a little internet research - I found out that this scale comes from a company that is NOT the same company that produces Detecto Dr. or "Professional" scales - it's a Toy Company that makes Lava Lamps ! That really explains why this scale seemed "cheap" right out of the box - and did not provide me with consistent & accurate readings. I find it VERY deceptive for a Toy Company to have a scale under a "Professional" brand when it really is not a true Detecto product. I made my choice known by returning these pieces of junk and buying a better scale. Buyer Beware !

Terrible scale, it always gives me different numbers. Just like the others stated, you'll hop on and get one number then hop on a min later and it'll be a different number. Do not buy this scale!

Owned this scale for less than a year and now it gives different readings even after just a few minutes. Total waste of money.
