A high quality, no-frills set
It's a nice, reasonably-priced set of high-quality metric taps and dies, from M3 to M12. Comes with two basic tap holders (one full-size, one compact with a moving arm) and a similarly basic die holder with a somewhat flimsy but usable aperture-style alignment aid. There are no ratcheting holders included. You also get a thread gauge and a somewhat clumsy screwdriver for free.Overall, it's a solidly made no-frills set, about as good as you could expect for under $100. My only regret is that I couldn't find anything comparable below M3. There is this no-name M1 to M2.5 kit, and it turned out to be decent enough, but is nowhere near the quality of the Craftsman one.

Craftsman, when only the best will do
I bought this product because I needed it to fix some cross threaded bolts on my go-kart...very pleased with the quality.Craftsman always exceeds my expectations and this product was no exception

Its an OK set
I've only used the set once since I got it, and it fixed the issue I had. If you do much home auto repair, its always good to have a tap & die set on hand because you never know when the stripped fastener gremlin will jump up and bite you. The case is decent quality as well. That said, my reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the diminished quality of this Craftsman tool set. While Craftsman Tools once set the standard for home auto repair tools; based on this set they now are just middle of the road cheap tools. I bought Craftman tap and set in standard (Inch) sizes about 35 years ago, and its very sad to see how the quality of workmanship of Craftsman tools has dropped. The 35 year-old set is really a work of art, and shows pride in design in workmanship. The workmanship of the new set looks like cheap imported junk. For example, instead of including a Craftsman screwdriver as before, the screwdriver looks like something you'd see in the $1.00 tool bin at the supermarket. The knurling on the handles is stamped-in instead of cut. I could go on and on, but hopefully you've got the point. But, its just a tool, and as long as it gets the job done, that should be what matters. With no other real alternative, I'd buy this set again if need be.

Craftsman makes good tools
And this is no different. It works for my thread cutting needs (which are few, but when you need a tap you need a tap).

Dont buy!
Don't buy this kit if you are expecting to have the correct taps for foreign cars! I did and it doesn't contain anything that I need. And seriously, why else would you be working with metric bolts anyway?

and OK set but not impressed
i have an old 80s era craftsman SAE set and I just got this metric set as a b-day gift. While its a nice set - Much better then the Harbor Freight metric it is replacing, it is no where near as nice as the old SAE set i have.the taps and dies are not engraved with sides simply written on, these will likley wear off in time with use and cleaning. They are also extremely difficult to read eve in bright light. The case does not properly hold the taps and several just fall out in the case when the case is moved around. It dosn't come with a socket attachment for the taps which is disheartening, the Die wrench you have to use a screwdriver (which they provide) to install and remove the tap vs a thumb screw. and the guides for smaller sizes do not functional well at all. They have very much sold out to china and while not bottom of the barrel they are much closer to that that now a days.you would be better off going with a tekton set for half the price

Good stuff that every tool box should have.
They're made by Craftsman....what else needs to be said. I've only used them a few times, but have had no problems at all.
