Good sound for the price.
I previously used a Rode Vidoemicro. I broke it so I decided I would give a couple of budget options a try to see how they compared before spending the money to repurchase the Rode. I will say that the sound from the Rode Mic was much better. Now was Is it $40 dollars better. I probably wouldn't say all that. I was surprised by the quality of the sound I got from this microphone though. It was better than I expected for the price I paid. Outdoors it didn't do well at all until I used the dead cat I have from my broken Rode mic and that improved the sound a good deal. I find it is comparable to some of the other budget units I have tried. Depending on what you are shooting and your sound needs this is actually a decent choice as far as a budget friendly mics goes .I will actually keep this one since for the price it will make a great secondary mic and will hold me over just fine until I replace my Rode. Again decent sound for the money. Inclusion of a dead cat for outdoor recording would be a good addition. It would push the price up a little but would make it a overall better value as the outdoor use would improve making it more versatile. But even with that said, I still think it is a good purchase for the money spent.

Nice Microphone
The media could not be loaded. So some microphones that are powerful need external power OR a Mic input jack. This type of microphone means I can, in theory, directly attach it to my laptop or cellphone without the need of any other accessories. This is great. So in terms of microphone quality, it's interesting. I'm sorry for not having included it in the video, but it sounds all right. Interesting that they included a switch between 90 degrees and 120 degrees. I like that.Overall nice microphone. Thank goodness they included a battery in the box since its an uncommon battery size.8.5/10 -Good mic, does what it says.

No better than my cameras built in mic.
I am using this with a 5D III and the quality of audio is no better (or worse) than the on board mic. I can hear no difference. The 90/120 degree switch appears to do nothing. It is light enough to fit and leave without it causing me any worries. I will keep using it and doing some trials and update my review if I get better results. For now I would say either stay with the on board microphone your camera has or pay a little more for a main stream brand.

Perfect mic for DSLR Camera
I made a listening comparison between this mic and others on several YouTube videos and based on that purchased this VideoMicro mic. I felt this mic had a better overall sound than some of the more expensive mics. I used this mic with my Nikon D7200 and the results were great. Compared to the thin, tinny sound I got from the camera's built in mics, along with the noise those picked up with camera handeling, the Røde gave a much better overall clean sound and the windscreen that came with it negated any wind interference I would have picked up outdoors. The small size and light weight make it ideal for a DSLR and the fact that it does not interfere with looking through the viewfinder while taking still shots.General pros:1. Can be rechargable with 280mAh CR2 battery. I've never used a microphone can be recharged before. So amazing.2. The mic is very well-built.3. The sound is great.4. Comes with MicroUSB cable

It’s on
Works and is inexpensive. Sound quality isn’t very good. Seems everything is very quite and I have to turn up volume in post everytime. Sounds better with no mic and all on my camera. Ended up buying a different one but will hold onto this because for the price it may have some use.

Doesn't work
I tried this with my Nikon 5200 and it doesn't work. The power light only comes on when it is charging. If I turn it on after charting, nothing happens. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it picks up no sound.

Definitely worth it!
Great little mic. I used this for a live stream while hiking. It was a bit windy and it wasn't picking up the wind, thanks to the wind cap. But it was picking up some birds and crickets. Highly recommend it if you are on a budget.

Misleading
Overall it's a decent mic however the pic shows that its mounted to the camera but on the actual camera there is no where to mount it unless you buy another piece I wish it would have said that in the add
