Image Guard Comic Backing Boards Silver Age Size

I don't use these backing boards for comic books. I use them to wrap my fabric around to store it. I am a professional Art Quilter and before I started using these backing boards to keep my fabrics in some kind of order (especially my own hand dyed fabric) I could never find what I wanted. I wasted a lot of time looking for the color of fabric I needed only to find it buried under another piece of fabric. Now I find what I want in a matter of seconds because these backing boards let me see exactly what is in each bin of fabric on my shelves. I can put them in the order that makes sense to me. Sometimes I store certain fabrics by color, but not always, and this product gives me the freedom to organize my fabric the way I want to. I love this brand because it's white on both sides, archival free and much more economical than other brands of the same size. It comes in packs of 100 and when you have as much fabric as I do that's a huge plus.

The set of boards I just received HAS TERRIBLE RAGGED EDGES. It is to bad you can't return them for a good set. These are usually a good product but these were cut with a dull blade so all the edges are ROUGH and has paper slivers hanging off of it! NOT something you want to see on a valuable collectable because the paper slivers gets onto your comic by static and then shows up on the front of the comic inside the poly bagged comic cover!

As much as I would love to give a smaller comic book supply company my praise, these boards missed the mark regarding quality. The problem I had with the 2 instances of buying these boards were that they were yellowish is color. The off coloring gives them the appearance that the paper used in production may have been breaking down on a molecular level. Think 20+ year old comic book yellowing for an idea of what I am referring to. Other than that, the packaging did indeed contain 100 boards as advertised, and also came well wrapped.

This product is new to me and my use was unusual. I'm a quilter/embroider and have lots of material that needed a way to be stored. I used this board for that and it worked awesome! and it was made in the US which is a double bonus. My reason for a low rating was because of the expense/shipping when all I had to do was go a few miles away and walk into a hobby/comic store which saved me double the money and gave the little man the money...

As far as I can tell, these boards are great quality. I've used about 80 of them so far, and haven't had any weird defects or problems with them. They do what they're supposed to do- keep your comics safe. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of these, and them being made in the USA is an added bonus! I deducted one star due to their packaging/shipping of the item, not the item's actual quality. These boards were shipped in a cardboard box with absolutely NO packing or cushioning material inside. 80-90 of these boards came with at least 1 corner, many with2-3 corners, having some noticeable damage & bends. I know that is what these are designed for, but I wanted them to take punishment protecting my books, not in shipping. These boards are sold by someone else, but fulfilled by Amazon, so I expected better packaging then that.

Finally! A quality and inexpensive back board! They are not bright white - that doesn't bother me. They are not BCW thick - but they are very close. The boards are strong enough and thick enough to have protected a comic book from a toddler. I will buy again and again! I use these behind my TPBs. They are comic boards... If I had to be SUPER CRITICAL, they do have a lot of little shreds on the sides where the boards were cut. For my purposes, it's no big deal. I just use a handy-vac when I'm done boarding my books. I've bought them a few times now.

I have been collecting comics for most of my life & I can honestly say that these boards are not very good at all. They are very thin and flimsy and would not protect your comics very well. I put 2 of them behind a comic and it still did not feel very strong. I purchased them for the purpose of replacing old bags and boards with fresh ones and when I put a new board behind a comic, i put the old board behind the new one to add protection. So since I'm doing that, these boards will work just fine. But if they were going to be the only type of board in the bag, they would not work very well.
