Polk Audio AA2571-A MM571 5x7 Coax Speaker

These MM571s were purchased to replace the rear speakers on my 2010 Mazda3 i Touring sedan. The vehicle's factory speakers were too "bassy" for my tastes, and I was hoping that the MM571s would add some "sparkle" to the mids and highs.The installation was completed last night and the MM571s powered up for the first time. When I isolated the playback to just the MM571s, I noticed that they sounded pretty good in the mid to high frequency ranges, and added the "sparkle" I was looking for, but the low frequencies were distinctly lacking.However, with all 6 speakers running, the MM571s blended in surprisingly well, filling in the mids and highs, and complementing the remaining bass-heavy factory speakers very nicely.A couple of notes: the speakers were driven from the factory head unit, so I can't vouch for how good they'll sound if hooked up to an amplifier (I'm guessing the bass deficiency might be addressed with an amp). Also, Polk's website indicates that the MM571s are a drop-in fit for the 2010 Mazda3, BUT THEY AREN'T. A diagonal structural cross-member in the rear door interferes with the magnet housing, and I had to use some 1/2" nylon stand-offs (purchased from Home Depot) to pull the speakers out enough to clear the cross-member.

I nearly always buy Polk speakers for my home theater system, they're the best value for the money, sound like speakers costing three times as much. When one of the Aplines in my truck failed I discovered that Alpine no longer made that model and was delighted that Polk had a drop-in replacement. I loved the Alpines. They had huge magnets, an excellent crossover and delivered powerful, clean, precise sound. When I unboxed the Polks and saw how small the magnet was compared to the Alpines I was prepared for disappointment but installed them anyway. Wow! These speakers absolutely blow away the Alpines in every category. I had to tighten up screws and add insulation to the doors because the bass is so intense, yet the mids and highs are more crisp and precise than I've ever heard in an automotive system (and seldom in a home system). You can't go wrong with these. Only one complaint. Now I have to buy a set of Polks for my girlfriends car, as it is now we have to take my truck everywhere because the sound is so addicting.

Simply replacing the front pair of OEM 5x7 speakers in my 2008 Mazda 3 with the Polk MM571 made a huge difference. I'm really impressed with the clear and natural sound, the presence. I listen to Jazz and Classical and talk radio mp3 - and for each genre the improvement over OEM continues to amaze! I've had Polk DBX series before, and was quite happy with them. I think the MMs are even better yet, even more clear, crisp, tight and natural sounding! You can hear what is there to be heard!I had switched to a set of Infinity (6x9 and 5 1/4) in a BMW I had a few years back. They sounded good when I demo-ed them in the store, where there were no Polks for comparison. After installing, I was really disappointed with them. The sound was just weirdly unnatural. I'm spoiled.

these speakers are very clear they separate sound well. i will say they are a better sounding speaker than the infiniti reference 5x7s. the reason they are not recieveing five stars from me is one of the 4 polk speakers i installed rattles at all volume levels. the speaker cone touches the post the tweeter sits on causing a loud vibrateing noise. the noise is constant and a low level iritation, thus ruining what would be deemed a pleasant listening experience. this one speaker has really hurt my feelings. i don't know if i should replace this speaker with another polk speaker (they sound real nice) and risk this occurance again, or replace them with a different brand.

These speakers rock!! They sound great, you get crisp highs from the tweeters and sweet sounds from the mid-range. The crossover that comes with it perfectly splits the signals to give them the outstanding sound that makes you want to turn it up even louder. I installed 2 pair in to my 2009 Ford Ranger extended cab and powered them with a kenwood head unit and a Polk Audio amp, model number PA500.4. They fit perfect without any modifications to the existing speaker holes. I added a 200w Bazooka powered sub for my lows and it gave it a balanced and complete sound. I highly recomend these speakers if you are wanting a quality high powered sound.

I purchased a set of these and a set of the POLK db571 model and the mid bass in the db571 is far better than the MM571 version. The MMs are brighter but the db version is bright enough, especially if you have an EQ connected as I do. It looks like I wasted $170 bucks as I will now replace perfectly good new speakers for a set of db but I am going for the DB5251 or the db6501 for even more mid bass then the db571 I hope. This is not an AMP issue, I originally had a DUAL XPE4700 tuned and connected but am returning it because of the distortion rate so early in the high volume range. I am now driving these speaker sets via a tuned POLK PA4400 and the result is the same as far as mid bass with the MM versions.

Though this speaker has great highs the mids are easily distorted. I don't know if I got a bad set of speakers but they only lasted for a week. I just think these speakers are worth the price advertised. The Pok Audio DB571's were lower in price and better as far as the balance of the speakers.
