Good Quality Hojicha (but you pay a premium for it)
Sweet and nutty. I think it tastes a little like hazelnut or chestnuts. Very nice aftertaste as well. I think that it is overpriced though. It's made with Bancha, which is typically a cheaper tea to start with. For the same price, you could buy a Chinese roasted oolong of much higher quality with similar overall flavors, but a much more interesting notes.

Generational Brand since 1717
A trip to Japan started a decade ago, expanded my taste for their tea. Hojicha, became one of my tea-favorites rotation, for tea drinking and desserts-making. Year 2024, this generational brand continues to make delightful variety of teas for me , my family , guests and the next generations of years to come. Tea of this grade, is not found easily in most Japanese restaurants , outside Japan. Tea, is my 1st taste, for dinning in Japanese Restaurants. It all begins with a cup of tea. Foremost, tea is a welcome drink and it is important to me, to form my1st tasting impression, for dinning in a Japanese restaurant. Hojicha, is very versatile for many food/desserts recipes. It is delightful and comforting by many moments of highs and lows. When the weather is hot, make hojicha kanten with shaved hojicha ice . When the weather is cold, bake hojicha basque cheese cake, cakes . Hojicha cocktail. We drink it hot /ice-cold with zero sugar. Enjoy.

Crisp, brisk, and warming tea
A very good tea for the price. It has all the great qualities of a Hojicha and is perfect for a late evening calm down, and it has a wonderful unique warming sensation unlike other Hojicha I have tried. The roasted, crispness notes of this tea helps it stand out from others, although it’s aroma was quite indifferent from other teas I’ve tried, the taste was its high point. Excellent, would recommend.

Delicious, Soothing Tea
I'm a huge fan of Ippodo Tea, which I first tried on a trip to Kyoto. The Hojicha is a bit pricey for the type, but it's worth it in my opinion. It has a very mild roasted flavor - less high-grade hojicha generally has a bit more of an edge. This tea is very low caffeine, so it is my favorite evening drink as well as being tasty at any time. I'll definitely be re-purchasing when I run out!

Delicious
This hojicha tea is great. I definitely recommend it. It is pretty strong too. You don't have to use a lot in order to make a strong cup. I definitely recommend it.
