It actually was brighter than my other high powered name brand leds when comparing them side by side. Comparison was with a 500 lumen slide king nebo light, showed it to be twice as bright, but when compared to my HID xenon flashlight thats 6500 its well under 50% brightness. So for a rechargeable, its a hard price to beat as my slide king was right at same price, but the lumens of this is greatly greatly exaggerated like most of these. Mine ended up as a return as the it would not recharge, seller was good to refund quickly. Mine came in working, and worked for an hour, but could not be recharged. Also on arrival had a burnt smell, I can only assume someone had this before and put the batteries in backwards. Do be cautious when you use batteries like this, I know people that treat them like remote control batters 1.5 volt, put in backwards at most they dont work. These as any high mAH battery should be used with caution and regard. I chose not to reorder one as the lumens to me where at best 1500 to 2000 true lumens, and the head of the unit just felt to cheap when turning; I feel it will lead to wire damage long term. Research your lumens, this light is priced close to 50% anyone else claiming the same, I did not buy theirs to do a comparison. For price point, and lumens currently I do not think you can find a cheaper lumen for dollar avenue. Rely on other feedback as to durability and if this seems to stand the test of time. My personal assessment is this will work fine for around home, camping in good weather, controlled environments. I just would not suggest this to go into heavy rain, or under a home thats been flooded etc with the head design and seals.

CREE XHP70 has a maximum light output of 4022lm at 32W. This flashlight claims to be 1500-2000 lumens, which is quite reasonable. Not matter how much lumens it can actually provides, it is very bright. It also includes a built-in 18650 battery charger and 2 18650 batteries are also included. However, the flashlight can get pretty hot after a short period, especially on the location close to the light bulb. Although my hand didn't feel the heat since it is pretty far from the holding position, I am not sure if the heat can shorten the life span of the light bulb or other electronic parts in that location.

Great for the price. Bought for camping, I now also use it at work doing insulation. I can set this up in the middle of the attic pointing upwards and it provides enough light that I can see to do my job even on the "low" setting without moving it. I have dropped it out of attics more than once and it keeps going.As a side note, I got bored one cloudy night and focused the beam to the "Skinny?" setting and was able to light up the clouds above me, I found it amusing. Only 3 down sides so far, it noms batteries like the cookie monster in a bakery, the top gets uncomfortably warm on the bright setting, and the lens that is used to focus the beam is made from a plastic or acrylic (not sure which) that scratches easily.Foot note if you have 18650 batteries laying around, you can use them with this if they are the button top variant, otherwise the 2 batteries that come with it can be used with 2 flat tops, just place the button top on the bottom when loading them in.

I did as another recommended and tightened all the joints. I also replaced the thermal compound with some high-quality paste to keep the chip as cool as possible. So far, I'm pretty happy. Only flaw I've found so far was a slight misalignment of the charging port, but that was easy enough to fix with minor disassembly. LED board says XHP70, but is not explicitly branded. Based on some preliminary power testing, if it IS a genuine CREE, its being underdriven somewhat, so there's some room for modding. More to come after I've had some time to play with it.

Product can ingest 26650 batteries, but comes with off-brand 18650 batteries. That said, the 18650's that came with mine seem solid. This flashlight is the brightest single LED diode flashlight in the LED family. I have several, ALL are CREE LED photonics. This light suffers from the same issue that all of the zoomable (trombone head) flashlights have, the head needs to be removed and the LED housing needs to be tightened. After that, this flashlight is a BEAST, and is rapidly earning its place as my go to single LED diode flashlight. It WILL turn night time into daylight.

Came with zero power in batteries .. bought three and all were like that ! Stay awayThis is a cheap company with bad battery from jump street.

I had originally written a bad review of this particular piece of equipment. My previous statement was wrong. I thought there was a short in the light when, in fact, it screws together in two different places. My flashlight is now fully functional and working superbly. It is also very bright!

Discharges overnight. Have not troubleshooted but, batteries do not discharge this quickly, must be some draw
